Pumpkin Patch Blog: A Moment for Gratitude

A Moment for Gratitude
Did you ever wonder what it takes to get those corn shucks that stand so nicely around the seasonal stands?

We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who is working hard to make it possible for us to celebrate and enjoy the harvest season.

Here are some of the examples of people working hard to get their farms, patches and festivals ready for their communities.

Country Pumpkins in Dry Ridge, Kentucky posted a video of what it takes to harvest the pumpkins.

Schaake's Pumpkin Patch in Lawrence, Kansas showed us some photos of their recent efforts in the corn field.  It looks like a lot of work!

Even though Hay River Pumpkin Seed Oil in St, Prairie Farm, Wisconsin has a lot of equipment, it still looks like a lot of work!

We especially have to be grateful that these kind people go to EXTRA work to bring us pumpkin patches we can enjoy during the harvest season.

Vesperman Farms setup a pumpkin patch, corn maze and... air canon?!?  Wonder what they're going to do with it.  We'll follow them on Facebook and hopefully we'll find out.

Can you imagine how much work it must be to harvest all of these pumpkins?  And this is just the beginning for Tim's Pumpkin Patch in Marietta, New York.

How many people do you think it took to lay out all of these pumpkins at Crawford Farms Pumpkin Patch
in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Just think, people at Uncle LeRoy's Pumpkin Patch in Denison, Iowa had to setup up all of the scenery for kids to explore.

Olive's Pumpkin Patch in Ellinwood, Kansas recently painted their pumpkin patch train.  Doesn't it look great?

Mark is known as "The Pig Guy" at Vala's Pumpkin Patch in Gretna, Nebraska.  He has been busy putting the finishing touches on the pig racing show.

Harvestville Farm in Donnellson, Iowa says they're all glitzed up and ready to go!

They just finished their new sign, too!

Tim's Pumpkin Patch in Marietta, New York lets us in on a little secret... how the witch really landed on the pole.  All of this for us!  Aren't we lucky?

Some work looks more fun than others...  At the Pumpkin Patch in Redlands, California, they're testing out the "scenery."

What do you think is more work... making a corn maze or harvesting the pumpkins?  It's tough to tell, but this corn maze at Tweite's Pumpkin Patch in Byron, Minnesota doesn't look easy to make... or to go through!  Looks fun, though!

Have other pictures showing your hard work that we missed?  Post on our Facebook page, tag Pumpkin Patch in pictures on Facebook or link below in the comments.

Thanks to all of you who do the harvesting and everything else that needs to get done, so we can enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of your labors!
