We starting sharing and posting pictures of pumpkins on our facebook page, then recipes, then decor... before long, it was a collection of reference material for pumpkin lovers!
People who have liked the page and follow along post the nicest comments and are truly a community. Some people grow pumpkins, manage pumpkin patches or just visit them during the fall season. But, the love of pumpkins and each other goes deeper.
For many of us, we have been experiencing pumpkin patches since we were kids. Whether stopping by a few pumpkins under a tent by the side of the road, a drive to the pumpkin patch with the hay rides and cider or a production that our family put on for the community each year, there is something about this experience that brings us together... for at least a few minutes... happiness, peace, joy, play-time, learning, growing, family, home.
Those moments, that is what we want to capture here.
Each time someone sees a post, or comments back and forth with someone else who posted a comment, we want them to get that sparkly and warm feeling for a few moments. Maybe it will carry on into the day.
Who knows? Maybe someday our pumpkin patch family of friends will all get to visit the pumpkin patches around the country together in virtual reality.
